Wrestling New Classic ran their latest event today, results from Shinjuku Face:
They claimed 550 paid (super full house/overflow).
Hoshito Takahashi beat ? in 4:47. My translation of the Ringstars reports indicates former joshi star Azumi Hyuga may have been a special referee here.The “other” ref, Soft Imai, tried to kick her out, only to get kicked in the nuts by Hyuga. Haha.
Kouji Doi & El Hijo De Pantera (sp?) beat Yusuke Kodama & Jiro Kuroshio in 10:10. Pantera pinned Kuroshio after a swanton atomico.
Leatherface beat Takuya Kito in 4:59.
Ultimo Dragon beat Lin Byron in 11 minutes by submission.
AKIRA, Starbuck & Syuri beat TAJIRI, Hajime Ohara & Kana in 15:18. AKIRA pinned Ohara.
After the main event, a surprise appearance was made by the attacker who reportedly put Makoto out of action with a fractured hand some time ago-the also out-long-term young joshi wrestler Nagisa Nozaki. She apparently conspired with Ohara to do the deed.Ohara & Nozaki beatdown on TAJIRI & Makoto followed until Kana made the save. As for Makoto, before match 3 she announced she’ll return on 8/30.
Next event is tomorrow. Likely more wrestler-produced events now, 4 over the next 5 days (every day except Sunday).
Also, the promotion’s Facebook & Ustream pages are finally up. The Ustream channel appearst to be just live press conferences (no archives). On Facebook their username is Wrestling.New.Classic. About the only thing not done yet is the English version of their website.
