9/17 Stardom Results
Stardom continued the 5STAR GP today, results from Shin-Kiba 1st Ring:
They claimed 403 paid (super full bill stop/a Full House).
Hiroyo Matsumoto beat Yuuri Haruka & Natsumi Showzuki in a 3-way in 9:59 by pinning Haruka.
Miho Wakziawa beat Kairi Hojo in 5:35.
Io Shirai vs. Yuusaku went to a 15 minute time limit draw.
Natsuki*Taiyo vs. Saki Kashima went to a 15 minute time limit draw.
Yoshiko beat Act Yasukawa in 9:30 by ref stoppage.
Dark Angel beat Kyoko Kimura in 11:34.
Yuzuki Aikawa beat Nanae Takahashi in 12:59. FINALLY! Not surprisingly, Aikawa got carried away leading the post-event ending, but deservedly so-she has finally achieved her goal of beating Takahashi in a singles match. No post-match comments from Takahashi. Oh, tiger suplex hold finish for those wondering. And if I remember correctly, this is also Takahashi’s first singles loss in Stardom.
As far as the standings with one day left…in the Red block, Yoshiko only needs to win her final match to take the block. If she loses, then Aikawa can take the top spot with a win as she would now presumably have the tiebreaker over Takahashi. In the Blue block, Dark Angel-Natsuki*Taiyo will probably determine the winner. If Angel wins, that’s it. If Natsuki wins, worst-case is a tiebreaker if one who didn’t compete today can win both of her matches on 9/30. The other highlight of note is Hojo trying not to be the only participant to go winless-it’s taken a toll on her as she broke down crying in the back after her loss.
Next events are on 9/30, which will feature 2 shows at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring.
One side note from Aikawa’s win over Takahashi: Daily Sports reports it’s not only her first singles loss in Stardom, but her first overall singles loss since July 2010, when Kaori Yoneyama beat her in JWP to win the JWP Openweight Championship.
